Rusatom International Network and Saudi group of companies Al-Yamama for Trading and Contracting sign a memorandum of understanding


On June 21, 2017 in Moscow, within the framework of the IX International Forum «ATOMEXPO 2017», Rusatom International Network (hereinafter referred to as Private Institution RAIN) and the Saudi company Al-Yamama for Trading and Contracting (hereinafter referred to as Al-Yamama) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document was signed by the president of Private Institution RAIN, Alexander Merten, on the Russian side, and the President of Al-Yamama Group Abdul Hakim Hamad A.Alkhaldi, on the Saudi side.

The Memorandum affirmed the parties’ commitment to exploring opportunities for cooperation in such areas as wind farms construction and operation projects in Saudi Arabia, as well as supplying ROSATOM subsidiaries’ equipment for Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical industry. The Parties agreed to continue consultations involving ROSATOM subsidiaries’ representatives in order to identify an appropriate format and specific areas of cooperation. For reference: Private institution for the development of the international network of the nuclear power industry complex Rusatom International Network was established for the management of Rosatom’s regional centres worldwide. The company’s key objectives are the support of Rosatom divisions’ activities in foreign markets, search for new business opportunities, the promotion of Russian nuclear industry enterprises’ products and services in the global marketplace, assistance in forming successful business alliances, marketing and PR support of Rosatom enterprises; and performing other international business functions as delegated by Rosatom and its divisions. The Saudi Al-Yamama Group is one of the world’s leading companies specializing in the construction, operation, maintenance and improvement of large infrastructural objects, including services in the area of wind power facilities, landscaping, environmental services, oil well services, radiation protection services, and nondestructive testing (testing the reliability of key performance characteristics and object specifications or its individual elements/hubs that do not require its decommissioning or dismantling). ATOMEXPO-2017 IX International Forum in Moscow has gathered 6.5 thousand participants from 65 countries, including Russia and four countries that take part in the Forum for the first time: Colombia, Sudan, Sri-Lanka and Ethiopia. The Forum is attended by 33 official governmental delegations from different countries of the world, as well as 100 companies from the global nuclear industry and associated industries. The business programme of the Forum envisages 13 round tables on relevant topics. The main theme of the Forum this year is Nuclear Technologies: Safety, Environment, Sustainability.
